Tax Credit Available on New Doors

Eligible customers will be able to apply for the credit with their federal tax returns for tax years 2009 or 2010.

Documents used to obtain the tax credit:
1. A copy of the Home Improvement Agreement showing the cost of the project.
2. Download and fill out Manufacturer's Certification Statement located HERE.
3. The appropriate IRS form the the Nonbusiness Energy Property Tax Credit.

Per Section 4.06 of Internal Revenue Bulletin 2006-11, the credit is calculated based upon the cost of the garage door, less any amounts “paid or incurred for the onsite preparation, assembly, or original installation” of the garage door. A reasonable approximation of these amounts will be provided.
